Abstract

Será utilizado um processo de teste de hipótese para prever padrões espaciais de Biodiversidade na megadiversa e acessível, porém ameaçada Mata Atlântica (MA) do Brasil. Como forma de caracterizar padrões espaciais de diversidade, serão gerados e integrados: 1. Novos conjuntos de dados de clima e de cobertura vegetal baseados em sensoriamente remoto e combinados com dados meteorológicos, 2. Dados de localidades, filogenia e análises genômicas de mais de 30 famílias de plantas, vertebrados e invertebrados, 3. Informação sobre características funcionais (fisiologia) e interações bióticas, e 4. Informação paleoambiental oriunda de registros geológicos, incluindo o de pólen fóssil e os isótopos de espeleotemas (para inferir mudanças na precipitação baseadas em depósitos em cavernas). Para descrever padrões espaciais de diversidade na MA, faremos a síntese de como a diversidade taxonômica está distribuída espacialmente pela integração de dados de produtores, consumidores, parasitas e bactérias simbiontes. Vamos expandir análises filogenéticas e compilar padrões gerais de endemismo e mudanças (turnover), ao nível de espécies e linhagens. Como forma de avançar a predição de biodiversidade, informações sobre mecanismos ecológicos da fauna e flora da MA (a dimensão funcional da diversidade) serão integradas com modelos climáticos dinâmicos para descrever a variabilidade de precipitação e temperatura durante os últimos seis ciclos glaciais-interglaciais. Esses modelos serão obtidos baseados em estudos paleoclimatológicos que incluirão nossos dados de pólen e espeloetemas fósseis. Por meio de métodos de Computação Bayesiana Aproximada serão utilizados dados de diversidade genética e genômica (Ultra Conserved Elements) dos múltiplos táxons para testar estatisticamente quanto o conjunto dessas histórias populacionais são concordantes com as mudanças ambientais e os processos demográficos. Estes modelos permitirão descrever diferenças entre comunidades devido a mudanças geográficas e ambientais no tempo. (AU)
