Abstract

Prospective multicenter randomized trial, with standard treatment open-label first phase, and randomized treatment open-label 2nd phase. In the first phase (3 month duration) we will establish a secondary cohort of hypertensive patients aiming at the definition of an anti-hypertensive medication regimen for the treatment and control of arterial hypertension and systematic identification of resistant patients. In the second phase of the study (3 month duration), the goal is to test the best forth drug to be added to the medication regimen of resistant patients. In addition, we will test whether previous knowledge of cardiovascular system intermediate phenotypes can influence the response rate following anti-hypertension medication. (AU)
