Abstract

Currently, obesity is a major public health problem. An estimated 300 million adults and nearly 40 million of children and adolescents worldwide are clinically obese. This increase in obesity in early childhood is associated with the development of many cardiovascular diseases, which highlights the atherosclerosis. Aim: To verify the role of hyperleptinemia on inflammatory and atherogenic response in obese adolescents. (AU)
