FAPESP University-Industry Cooperative Research (PITE) is developed through partnerships among research institutions in the State of São Paulo and companies of any size for the development of new products with high technological content or new productive processes. The projects are carried out under the responsibility of a Principal Investigator, associated with higher education or research institutions in the State of São Paulo. The selection is through a peer-reviewing system.
RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) regulate post-transcriptional gene expression and participate in essential cellular processes such as splicing and mRNA transport. Alterations in their functions are associated with diseases such as cancer, neurodegeneration, and viral infections. Despite their therapeutic potential, RBPs remain poorly explored in drug development. In this PITE-Grandes Projetos …
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a renewable polymer with properties similar to polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and has the potential for widespread use in the packaging industry. This research project aims to investigate the feasibility of obtaining Polyethylene Furanoate (PEF) from spent coffee grounds. PEF is a renewable polymer with properties similar to polyethylene terephthalate…
Veterinary Oncology is one of the most important specialties in veterinary medicine due to the number of animals affected by cancer, whether due to increased longevity, greater awareness and appreciation of pet owners, or the development of better diagnostic tools and therapeutic possibilities. Even so, the gap between this and human medicine is enormous, especially when considering preci…

Ultrafiltration membranes have been extensively used for water and wastewater treatment around the world to address the increasing demand and scarcity problems by using alternative water sources such as domestic wastewater. However, membrane fouling still remains as an important issue for obtaining systems' maximum performance. One of the options for coping with this problem is to increas…
The main objective of this project is to develop new technologies for the removal of taste and odor, particularly two semi-volatile compounds 2-methylisoborneol (MIB), geosmin and Nitrosamines where the goal is to replace activated carbon technology and current membranes. Two classes of filter elements and / or adsorbents will be developed and studied. The first involves a class of low-co…
Reservoirs are environments constructed for energy production and water supply. They are complex, dynamic and sensitive systems to the effects of anthropogenic activities in the watershed. One of the main consequences of anthropic actions in the hydrographic basin is the occurrence of the artificial eutrophication process due to the excessive supply of nutrients that triggers the accelera…
