Medical degree from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1991) and PhD at Clinical Medicine from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2000). Has experience in Medicine, focusing on Medicine, acting on the following subjects: dry eye, lacrimal gland, hormone diseases, gene therapy and Sjögren's syndrome. Between 1995 and 1997 concluded a research fellowship at Schepens Eye Research Institute / Harvard Medical School. In 2011 concluded a postdoctoral fellowship at NIH where he studied the application of gene therapy for diseases of the lacrimal gland and ocular surface . He is full professor and member of the post-graduate program of Ophthalmology , Otorhinolaryngology ,Head & Neck Surgery of FMRP- USP , Editor in-Chief of ABO, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, FMRP -USP . He is currently a member of ARVO , TFOS , BRAVO and CBO . In literature metric has more than 90 publications, a range of 1074 and 2060 citations and H index between 16 and 22 depending on the queried database. , (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
