Abstract Energetic particles (EPs) are used in fusion grade plasma experiments as a source of heat to overcome energy losses. It turns out however that they play a major role on instability excitations of magnetohydrodynamic modes. EPs can interact resonantly with these modes, causing particle and heat losses that degrade the confinement. We propose to study the interaction of EPs and toroidicity-induced Alfvén eigenmodes (TAEs) using a two-dimensional line-broadened quasilinear approach, which captures the interaction in both regimes of isolated and overlapping modes. Initially, analytical works will be performed and then, the numerical implementation on NOVA code is intended. (AU) | |
