Abstract
Electronic systems whose properties are influenced by symmetries and topological aspects of the band structure have been actively studied in the past few years. Examples include materials such as graphene, topological insulators and superconductors, and Weyl semi-metals. This research project proposes to investigate some fundamental theoretical questions which, in spite of the rapid advances in the understanding of these materials, remain open. In particular, we will focus on the investigation of transport properties, correlation effects and magnetic impurities in these systems. (AU)
