Leonardo de Assis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Gothenburg and a researcher at the Wallenberg Center for Molecular and Translational Medicine (WCMTM) in Sweden. He graduated in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP) and obtained a PhD in Physiology from the University of São Paulo (USP). He has completed two post-doctoral internships, the first at USP (2019-2020) and the second at the University of Lübeck in Germany (2020-2025). His training and experience cover in vitro and in vivo experimental models, molecular biology, gene editing, omics methods, and bioinformatics analysis.His research interests focus on the interaction between the biological clock and the physiological functions of organs such as the skin and liver. He is also dedicated to advancing in vitro methods for application in translational medicine, with an emphasis on the areas of skin biology and circadian biology. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
